I will dominate 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will damage his features and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of such comments, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically famous for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

However, the novice continues to be one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, frequently receiving substantial earnings.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As both boxers participated in the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is really going ahead.
